Safely arrived in Glasgow.
Safe arrived in Glasgow !
I begin this new year far away from my home in a little country called Scotland.I am here for a year studying business in Strathclyde University. And I am going to learn some stuff that I could share joyfully with you guys.
I will ask you to excuse my English in advance, because even if I am here to study, my English is not fluent yet!
About Glasgow
What I can say is that I heard a lot of things about this city even before getting it. That could have been in good as in bad.We will begin by the bad stuff. I have been taught that Glasgow was an industrial city with high industries that breath smoke and were kind of sad. Pessimists were saying that it was always grey and gloomy.
The other idea of Glasgow was much more bright! Some Glasgow lovers spoke about it with stars in the eyes. They can’t stop talking about the Glaswegian nights that where frantic and underground. That they have music everywhere rock or Celtic and that pubs were always full of people.
Well I have found a Glasgow city that looks more like the second idea. Pubs were actually always full. You have so many universities in Glasgow that you can see that the city is very dynamic. If you need to mingle with the crowd, take the direction of Buchanan Street (they have a Victoria Secret, doesn’t that a clue of dynamism?). There is always something to do near George Square and the Clyde quays are all new and light (perfect place to have a good run when the weather is clement!). The west part of Glasgow host the University of Glasgow that is one of the prettiest building I have ever seen. And all about the district is evolving into something very young, with concept cafĂ©, international restaurant or little design stores.
This is the fuzzy image I have of Glasgow right now but still, I have the whole year to talk about it so lets get in touch and see you soon!
