West End North and West End South of Glasgow
You are visiting Glasgow, let me help you to find the best place to go visit. I'll begin with the West part, that is quite my favourite of all.
West End North
|
Botanic Gardens, Glasgow |
I advise you to take the bus that will lead you to the Great Western Road, more precisely near the
Botanic Gardens. You will enjoy charming greenhouses and little squirrels that will come eat in your hands all around the park.
After that, you should go down on the Byres Road with all its little shops and lead yourself to the
University of Glasgow. It is one of the most ancient universities in the United Kingdom. You can enter the main building as a visitor and mix with all the students. This place has been the scene of the TV show Outlander for the fans ;).

University of Glasgow |
After this studious visit, leads yourself to Argyle Street where you will find the
Kelvingrove Art Gallery Museum and Kelvingrove Park. This is one of the largest museums of the UK. Once you're in the park, go find the Kelvin Walkway. Why? Because it runs alongside the Kelvin river and will bring you directly to the
Inn Deep Bar. After this long ride, you surely will be thirsty?

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum |
Ashton Lane is a very famous place and you will understand why. It is quite short but you will enjoy your time there. Try the
Ubiquitous Chip to eat a traditional meal, and seat in the nice "back patio" of the
Brel bar that is very cosy.
West End South
If you need a little bit of calm in your trip you could go to the beautiful
Mitchell Library. This old building has a wonderful interior made in stucco and marble.

After that, you can go to the
Riverside Museum that is a very recent museum with an interesting architectural plan made by the Zaha Hadid. This museum gathers a collection of transportation. You will have the chance to have a step into a reconstituted street from the Victorian period to the actual period. A must visit!
Then just take the
Clyde Walkway that has been refurbished and you will pass by the numerous bridge as the Clyde’s Arc Bridge. But also the Finnieston Crane and the Clyde Auditorium (or also called the Armadillo because of its form) and the SSE Hydro were most of the big expositions take place.
Let’s follow the adventure for the
East part of Glasgow that is coming just after.
